Everglades Fishing Seasons
Although fishing in the Everglades is great year round, like other areas, the fishing changes with the seasons.
Given that our most sought after species like snook, redfish, tarpon, cobia and permit prefer the warmer water, the spring and summer is the best time to fish for them. This is not to say that these fish are only caught in the warmer months, only that the chance to target and catch these species is better.
In the colder months we start to target seatrout, black drum, sheepshead, grouper, snapper and pelagic fish like mackerel, bluefish and kingfish. If we get a break in the weather and the water temperatures start to rise into the upper seventies, snook and redfish can turn on and provide great action.
